Spring Time Chores
(Helpful Tips, Hints and
Reminders)

If you are going to plant trees this year, you need to be getting them ordered. Tree seedlings are usually shipped in February or early March. They should be planted in March or Early April. |

Planning on burning some brush as a "spring clean up" project? Remember "FIRE SEASON" runs March 1st through May 31st. During Fire Season you can burn legally only after 4:00 p.m. and only if the burning area is surrounded by a 10-foot wide safety strip and someone is with the fire at all times! Also be sure to use some common sense when burning .... if it is hot dry and windy, DON'T BURN! Wait until conditions are more favorable for safe burning. |

While you have your tractor out getting ready to work on your vegetable garden, this would be the time to go ahead and prepare those wildlife food plots for the May or June planting of warm season grasses and/or legumes. Also don't forget to soil test to see how much lime and fertilizer is needed. |
